Dr. Michael Moen
Dr. Michael Moen FACOG, FACS
Dr. Moen is a native of the Chicago area and attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency training at Loyola University Medical Center and then did fellowship training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
After completing his training, Dr. Moen joined the staff at Lutheran General Hospital and helped establish the Division of Urogynecology. He served as the director of the division for several years. During his time at Lutheran General, Dr. Moen was actively involved in teaching medical students and physicians-in-training and received numerous teaching awards. He served as the Residency Program Director and holds the position of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School.
Dr. Moen’s practice philosophy is centered on patient education and maintaining good communication with his patients. “I believe it is important to take the time to understand each patient’s concerns and provide the necessary information for her to make the best decisions about her own care.” Dr. Moen has received multiple awards including recognition as one of the Top Doctors in the Chicago Metro area and one of America’s Top Doctors by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Moen has been actively involved in clinical research and is a past recipient of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons President’s Award for Outstanding Research. He has authored several book chapters and over 25 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals. He remains actively involved in lecturing and teaching surgical techniques internationally.
Dr. Moen helped establish urogynecology services at Edward Hospital in Naperville and Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora and he now sees patients at both of these offices. He currently performs surgery at Edward Hospital, Rush-Copley Medical Center and Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
